i met Ethan at my first ever book event. i went all out and created a completely over the top booth that i will never do again (but it was a lot of fun, whatever my mom says) and was ready to meet readers of all kinds.
Ethan was a freshman at the time, and i was delighted at his interest in the books. he bought more than one (maybe all three i had at the time), and we enjoyed a good chat about writing. i told him to keep in touch, and as he walked away, i wondered if i would ever hear from him again.
but since then we’ve communicated by email occasionally. i’ve had the pleasure of reading some of his short stories. and lately, i’ve been super impressed at how regularly he’s sending out his substack (i could take a lesson here!). it’s been great to watch him grow as a creator, and he’s got a wide open path ahead of him. i’m both proud of him and really excited for him!
recently, he sent me some really thought-provoking questions, and i did my best to answer them thoroughly and honestly. you’ll enjoy reading.

and if you like Ethan’s blog, music, podcast, or YouTube channel, do him a solid and hit all the subscribes.
Good interview. Love reading and watching your work.
