measure twice, saw once

sage wisdom from my dad

my dad has always told me “measure twice, saw once.” i clearly did not remember any of that when hanging these light-blocking curtains, which only block light that it is in front of.

however, “measure twice, saw once” is three things, and “measure zero times, hang twice” is only two things, so which one is really the most efficient, here?
